Over the course of 2015, we’ve featured no less than 69 cars, so when it came time to narrow down to our top 15 of 2015, we seriously struggled. Below is what we narrowed it down to. With the standard of builds being completed in the country skyrocketing, it was no easy feat to choose. We looked at what cars we’d love to have parked in our own garages, and this is what we came up with — in no particular order. Shyam — 1987 Holden Commodore VL
It’s funny, when most die-hard Holden fans think of the marque’s line-up over the years, the VL is often the model that is not regarded as a ‘real’ Holden. Maybe that’s because the Nissan RB30E straight-six was a factory option, but that hasn’t stopped Shyam from building his VL into a show-stopping Aussie-style street and strip weapon. The 1000hp turbocharged LS and equally tough driveline is awesome — as is the fact it has run a 9.90 at 138mph on a low boost tune — but what we really love is the way the VL has been finished in a way that is simple, classy, and still distinctly Commodore.
