Regarded as one of the biggest and best car shows in the world, we check out the highlights from the 52nd LA Roadster Show.
Held over the USA’s Father’s Day weekend (June 18–19), the LA Roadster Show has become a must-do for hot rodders around the globe. This year, there seemed to be a higher presence of Kiwis in attendance than those from any other country.
More than 1000 roadsters were on display at the show itself, and it was quite overwhelming to see so many stunning cars in one area. Sure, ’32 Ford Highboys were the most popular, but no two were alike; they came in all shapes and colours.
A noticeable trend this year was builders avoiding the traditional small block Chev and TH350 combo, preferring Hemis, flatheads, Cadillacs, and SOHC Fords — pretty much anything that wasn’t a small block Chev — and that’s gotta be a good thing!
