Finding out how much horsepower a new sports car will boast is like rattling your presents under the Christmas tree, and realizing that the Lego set you asked for is buried deep within the wrapping paper. It’s exciting, and something all of us car enthusiasts get amped about. The rattling of the presents came early for the V8 enthusiasts, as a leaked source has announced that the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will boast 650hp and 650ft·lb of torque.

Up a mere 10hp from the previous model, the ZL1 is to share the same drivetrain as the ZO6, which is a 6.2-litre supercharged LT4 V8. Interestingly, though, the ZL1’s V8 will be backed by a 10-speed automatic transmission. I find it amazing that vehicles today now have a mind-bending 10 gears — oh, what a time to be alive!
