It may not have quite cost an arm and a leg, but they’ll be the first to admit that it’s part way there

When Errol and Elaine Uttinger purchased a rolling ’47 Ford body from the lower South Island 17 years ago, they didn’t know what they were going to do with it. What they did know, though, was that whatever they did, it needed to be something different from any other ’47.

The result wasn’t just twice as much effort and attention to detail as they expected, but a whole lot more. It’s a credit to the whole Uttinger family and to all the tradespeople involved. Plenty of close-up inspection is necessary to take in all the car’s details and workmanship, so, we suggest, if you’re ever heading to a show that the car’s going to be at, book in some extra time, as you’re going to need it!
