Kiwi Formula E championship contender, Mitch Evans, has won the Mexico City ePrix after a dominant display that saw him take the lead on the run to the first corner and avoid a spate of chaotic driving from his competitors to clinch the victory.

Evans blazed past pole sitter Andre Lotterer, with Sam Bird also capitalizing on an error to move past into second. Nico Mueller ploughed into the wall after misjudging the entry into turn one, bringing out a safety car, while Lotterer slipped further back due to damage and retired from the race. Nyck de Vries failed to stop for turn one, taking Robin Frijns with him.

Evans crossed the line without incident to clinch his Jaguar’s second victory in the series. He now leads the championship.
